I studied traditional painting at Istanbul, was a resident of the weaving studio lead by Gulcin Aksoy (may she rest in peace). I started working as a graphic designer for a slow fashion company that conducted workshops with underprivileged children in Tarlabasi (SGDD - ASAM). Through Design Biennale Istanbul, I met some Rotterdamse artists that studied in WdKA. This encounter lead me to study graphic design there and I graduated from that bachelors summer of 23. It was lovely.
My practice relies a lot on site specific inspiration, languages of tactile mediums and grid work. Recently I am inspired by Agnes Martin, Sevinc Tevs and Annie Parker. Currently I work as the in-house designer at WORM and am a part of an artist community at Buitenplaats Brienenoord. At Buitenplaats Brienenoord, I am inspired by the people of the island and my practice on location is more reliant on the community. I co-organize workshops/events with lovely like or different minded people to create spaces of craft and try to give those a platform, a public clothesline. At WORM, I work with a looot of collaborators from very different backgrounds and practices. I am part of the soup, but in a garnish way.
